Based in Hitchin, in rural Hertfordshire, we specialise in unique custom built furniture to meet your exact requirements, combining traditional and modern techniques. Offering both technical and artistic expertise during the entire design process, S. Nicholl Furniture will create the perfect solution to suit your individual style.

Commissions

S. Nicholl Furniture provides a high quality commission service to ensure we produce the perfect piece to fit your requirements. The process begins with a free full consultation to discuss the various material options, design decisions and practicality of the construction. After the initial design appointment we will produce a quotes for the decided materials and construction sketches for both elements and the finished piece. We will also provide you with wood samples to help you visualise the furniture. Your written quote will be an exact cost for the furniture. The lead time will depend on the exact complexity of the commission and an exact production time will be written on your initial quote. However if you have a specific deadline you would like your commission to be ready for, please do let us know as early as possible. A non refundable deposit of half the amount will be needed to begin hand making your furniture. Once complete we will arrange a delivery date when the balance will be paid.

Having studied Art at Manchester Metropolitan University, Simon Nicholl went on to specialise in Cabinet Making at London Metropolitan University, prior to working and studying under Geoffrey Rowe. From this experience and developed expertise, S. Nicholl Furniture was created, specialising in hand crafted bespoke pieces for home and business environments. Based in rural Hertfordshire, we specialise in unique custom built furniture to meet your exact requirements, combining traditional and modern techniques.
